At Driskill Dance, we are passionate about sharing the transformative power of dance with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Our mission is to create a welcoming space where dance enthusiasts can come together to learn, grow, and connect.
Edie Driskill has been certified by the National Teachers Association of Country-Western Dance, Silver Sneakers, and the Dance for Parkinsons Disease program from the Mark Morris Dance Studio in New York City.
Her lifelong love of dance began with figure skating at age 4 and the ballet training that accompanied that sport. At age 40 she moved from dancing on ice to dancing on land as she picked up the hobby of line dancing in bars. Along with that came partner dancing to country and swing music.
She began teaching line dancing at Worthington Community Center in 2003 and has expanded her class offerings to include Silver Sneakers and Dance for Parkinsons Disease.
In the last twenty+ years she has taught in dozens of locations around Franklin County and continues to explore new ways to introduce dance to the community. She has also taught at national events like Ft. Wayne Dance For All and the IAGLCWDC Annual Hoedowns for many years.
Allen Driskill met Edie swing dancing at that first bar where she learned to line dance. He had been dancing in ballroom studios for fourteen years but was also eager to begin teaching. The two began the longest running ballroom social dance in Columbus at the Unitarian Church in 2005. Over 3000 people attended that dance in the years it was offered. Allen continues to teach ballroom, swing and Latin rhythms to private students in their home under the business name, Too Left Feet.
